Quotation Marks - Nicknames

Nicknames

Do not place quotation marks around nicknames unless they are very unusual or placed within the legal name.

Examples:

Eddie “the Chin” Mayo was an eyewitness to the crime.

I asked Tootsie to give me a ride home.

Her significant other was “Mean Green.”
