12.  To Prevent Misinterpretation

(a.)  Quotation marks are used with uncapped letters of the alphabet or if they are likely to be misread.

Examples:

Look at the letter “A” in his signature.

Your “i” looks like an “e.”

The word looks like “bet” instead of “bit.”
