7.  Words Referred To As Words

(a.)  Quotation marks are used to set off words or phrases introduced by expressions such as the expression, the term, the word.

Examples:

The phrase “as you were” has special significance.

Let us consider the words “in God we trust.”

My father once said, “The most dreaded words in the English language are ‘Some assembly required.'”
